2021.11.29 23:50 Erebus222 Skyscrapers….
Who’s idea was it to cramming 128 players into a 100sq foot area with one team able to drop tanks and AFVs right in front of a limited number of elevator doors (doors they are warned are about to open). I have literally never won a breakthrough game that had a skyscraper roof objective on Hourglass.
Honestly it’s either they just didn’t care about this obvious outcome or were forced to not deal with it.

2021.11.29 23:50 Withergaming101 Spacebar Input is delayed
Occasionally while playing, when I hit spacebar to hit a skillcheck, and the skill check misses, because it thinks I hit the bar later. I know its taking the input later than not at all because if I hit it early, I will hit the skillcheck.
This happens on and off, so I cannot counter it reliably, and I can't even use decisive or beat Oppression/Overcharge because of this issue. Any help?

2021.11.29 23:49 TheVidjalante Effectiveness of melee weaponry against The Flood?
Went back into Halo 3 to do a bit of testing, found the bayonets on Brute weapons are effective against all forms of The Flood, even one-shotting pure forms. What I find myself wondering is would this be the case because blades are effective against the Flood, or because they're being swung by a Spartan/Sangheili?
If it came down to it, could a human defend themselves against a Flood combat or pure form with any sharp piece of metal? What about blunt weapons? Can you bust a pod infector with a baseball bat? Best case I can make for that is seeing Jiralhanae punch them to death in a Halo 2 cutscene...but again, that's Jiralhanae.
This is relevant to a campaign I'm putting together for my tabletop group, so I appreciate any input!

2021.11.29 23:49 BillH_nm RDOF funds vs. availability dates
This is just a question ... not a rant. I'm trying to reverse-engineer Starlink's logic for pushing everyone from MTL 2021 to specific months in early 2022, or to MTL 2022. As many here have noted, this doesn't seem to have anything to do with when you pre-ordered (at least in the US).
Accordingly, the "first come, first served" doesn't apply any more, at least at the aggregate level (perhaps different at the individual cell level). This shifts the question to why some cells are opening, and some are not when the constellation and ground station network is dense enough to support full coverage in the lower 48.
Based on my impression (which may not be accurate), those in rural areas are tending to be pushed farther back in the queue. This caused me to wonder whether there was any correlation between which areas that Space-X won Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) auctions and which rural areas are actually getting fulfilled orders.
For example, in New Mexico, Space-X won auctions in a fairly dense swathe across northern New Mexico (Albuqueque-Santa Fe-Gallup-Navaho Nation) and some isolated spots in the Tularosa Basin and around Silver City. At least based on this subreddit, folks up in the areas where they won RDOF funding seem to be getting fulfilled orders, while those in rural areas where RDOF money went elsewhere are not. Further, those in areas not getting RDOF money seem to be getting pushed back behind others until MTL 2022, which would seem to indicate these areas are a lower priority for Starlink.
I'm wondering if there is any correlation here. Obviously, the data is incomplete based on what's on this subreddit, but I'm wondering if RDOF funding locations are a more useful explanation than the "Elon is evil" vs. "Trust Saint Elon" discussion which seems to be generating more heat than light.
Understanding the causal mechanism would help people make better decisions on whether to pursue alternatives (at least where they are available) or to just hang in there and wait it out. I'm hoping others with more knowledge will provide their insights and help rule in or rule out this idea.

2021.11.29 23:49 HelpfulQuail276 At what tier does getting constant citadels in a battleship become normal?
Because at tier 3 and now 4, I get maybe 3-4 citadels a game.
And that is hitting the EXACT point where the citadel is located, at the correct angle, with AP rounds and everything.
I rarely play battleships because they are the most infuriating class of ship in the game. Slow AF in absolutely everything. Slow to speed up or slow down. Slow to turn. Slow to traverse your guns. Slow to reload. Slow with their shell flight time.
The only thing NOT slow is how quickly you die.
I had a game last night where after destroying a cruiser, I found myself alone in a Kongo, against 2 battleships, a cruiser and an aircraft carrier. And badly losing by points.
I killed a battleship, then a carrier then another cruiser. In the final moments I was down to 5k health with the last battleship bearing down on me with 2/3 of his health left. But I was ahead in points.
Since I had gotten a SINGLE citadel out of the 4 ships I sunk I just ran for it showing them my ass.
I won in points. But FFS for the LIFE of me I cannot get citadels regardless if I am point blank or way off.
